Spies in disguise is about a secret agent who is the best in his field. But is framed for stealing a weapon that can expose all the secret agents. So he must have the help of the tech inventor who doesn't want to harm anyone in order to save the identities of all the agents and save the world. Spies in disguise was a lot of fun and got slowly better. But did suffer from some narrative and screenplay flaws. Lets talk about this more in detail.
First of all the films animation and action sequences were great. The film like a large majority of these kinds of movies this year had fantastic animation that was very pleasing to the eye. With Walters tech creations being very inventive and visually pleasing. And the action sequences were surprisingly entertaining and inventive. When Lance ( Will Smith) did what he did best especially in the beginning it was entertaining. With hard hitting action scenes and inventive ways of defeating the bad guys it kept you consistently entertained as well as other aspects.
Next they did some interesting things with the plot and it was surprisingly very funny.
I thought that the whole dynamic of Lance changing from a human to a pidgeon was very interesting. And i had a lot of fun with the different situations they put him in as a bird as he learned how much he needed Walter and he could be a spy much easier. So i thought this was a really fun and creative plot choice from the screenwriters and director. Because of this dynamic the film was very funny. The film went all out with his humour with jokes coming at you all the time, and for the most part they landed. With Lance finding out the functions of a pidgeon being hilarious, and Walter and his gadgets were infectiously funny as well.
However i do just have to say that not all the humour landed consistently throughout the film. The humour did fall flat sometimes which left it awkward to watch in a few instances mostly involving Lance and Walter. But then they instantly made you laugh again, so the comedic tone was not consistent and it was fairly jarring and clunky in scenes when there was humour that landed and humour that didn't.
Next the film had great themes and likeable characters. The film had a great message about being weird and different being a good thing which was executed in a heartwarming way. Has there been films with similar messages yes, but spies in disguise still made it seem fresh and is a great message for todays society. Also all the characters were very likeable. Lance had this cool arrogance to him that made him very entertaining to watch, and he as his friendship with Walter became better so did he. And Walter was an extremely likeable character. Having him not having many friends really made you warm to his character. As his wacky inventions were a joy to watch. Also his view on how to deal with situations involving violence was interesting.
However my final two negatives that bought the film down slightly was its under-usage of Lance in human form and how generic it was. I liked Lances character and his action sequences so much. That i would of personally preferred if he stayed as a human more in the first act to get more action scenes and how he works on the job. But i understood why they didn't, but i would of set out the first act slightly differently. And the film did have a generic formula despite doing different things with the visuals and characters. It was still the whole main character being framed, having to save himself and learn to be a better person. We have seen it all before this was just done in a slightly slicker package then others.
My final two positives would be the great villain and the entertaining final act. The villain was delightfully evil. And they did a great job at making him really dislikable with his killing and actions towards likeable characters was great. And his accent and half burned face just made him look really cool. And the final act was great, When it was revealed the true goal of the villain and all the characters came together you couldn't help but feel excited about what was to come. And they didn't disappoint, with surprisingly dark moments as well as Lance embracing Walters ideas they ended the film on a high.
Overall spies in disguise offers a funny, well animated and excellently voice acted piece of entertainment that doesn't offer anything new to the genre but still is a lot of fun.

Spies in disguise full movie download. Christy Lemire December 25, 2019 The animated “Spies in Disguise” features  Will Smith  as the voice of an arrogant secret agent who accidentally gets turned into a pigeon—and finds hes even better at his job in avian form. Sounds like lively and harmless holiday fun for the whole family, with a reliable and charismatic star at its center. Add Tom Holland as the voice of the sweetly quirky gadget guru responsible for Smiths characters transformation and the movie probably seems even more appealing. The Fresh Prince and Spider-Man, teaming up to fight evildoers: Whats not to like? Advertisement And sure, you could enjoy the film from Blue Sky Animation—the studio behind the “ Ice Age ” franchise—on a purely superficial, escapist level. The colors are vibrant, the lighting and shadows can be quite dramatic and the mere idea of  Will Smith  as an annoyed pigeon is good for a laugh. But there might be something deeper going on in the film from directors Nick Bruno and Troy Quane, working from a screenplay by Brad Copeland and Lloyd Taylor. “Spies in Disguise” might just be making a statement on our deeply fractured times, with its bad guy ( Ben Mendelsohn) who threatens at a crucial moment: “You hit me hard, I hit back harder. ” If you feel like youve heard this phrase recently, it also happens to have been President Trumps guiding mantra since time immemorial. (Actually, Trump likes to say he hits back 10 times harder, just for good measure. )  Granted, animated movies take several years to develop. The folks behind “Spies in Disguise” couldnt have known how polarized wed be as a society when they started working on the film. (And their movie is actually inspired by a 2009 short cleverly titled “Pigeon: Impossible”. Its hard to ignore the fact that Smiths Lance Sterling views fighting fire with fire as his primary option when approaching global supervillains, while Hollands pacifist tech expert Walter Beckett likes to create bombs that release glitter and “aww”-inducing images of kittens into the air. He wants to use his scientific mind to bring folks together rather than pull them apart. At one point, Walter even says, “Theres no good guys or bad guys. Just people. ” And guess whose philosophy wins out in the end? Seems like a pretty clear message, or at least a relevant and necessary one. Tying it all together, though, is a pretty standard, globetrotting spy tale featuring exotic locations, cool vehicles and gadgets, over-the-top action sequences and mismatched buddy antics. There are plenty of pratfalls for the youngest viewers to enjoy even before Lance becomes a winged version of himself. But it takes a little while for the films pacing to get going, and only really kicks into gear after Lance finds himself framed for treason while on a mission in Japan. He turns to Walter, the underling hed dismissed, who also happens to be the one person who can help him clear his name; Walter, in turn, turns him into a pigeon as part of an experiment that goes horribly wrong. But Lance finds that, while he cant drive his tricked-out, super sporty Audi without opposable thumbs, he can still sneak around undetected in his feathered form. Heres where “Spies in Disguise” takes on an appealingly off-kilter vibe as Lance reluctantly befriends other pigeons, with their googly eyes and waddly walks and affection for regurgitation. And the ways in which the pigeons work wonders as a flock—to the point of becoming playfully weaponized in the name of good—is consistently inspired.  Besides Smith and Holland, who have decent chemistry with each other, the solid supporting voice cast features Rashida Jones,  Reba McEntire, Karen Gillan and Masi Oka. You could do worse with your family after opening holiday presents—and it might even give you something to talk about with your relatives of varying political persuasions. What parents need to know Parents need to know that Spies in Disguise is an animated buddy comedy featuring the voices of Will Smith as Lance Sterling, a Bond-like American superspy, and Tom Holland as Walter Beckett, a gadget-happy inventor. There are lots of action sequences involving spy gear and weapons, as well as some life-or-death scenes in which it looks like all is (almost) lost. One character loses a parent; it happens off screen, and no details are discussed, but the emotional impact is felt. The physical comedy includes some rude humor (jokes about bird genitalia, for example)  and there's a long scene in which a large, tattooed villain's naked behind is visible a few times. A female pigeon frequently flirts with Lance in his bird form. The chemistry between the voice actors is great, and the film has worthy messages about teamwork and accepting help from others. SPIES IN DISGUISE is an animated spy thriller about two very different men. Suave master spy Lance Sterling (voiced by  Will Smith) is known for not mussing his tuxedo while taking down international criminals, while awkward Walter Beckett ( Tom Holland) is a young, brilliant inventor who creates spy gear. When a mysterious terrorist is able to use tech to disguise himself as Agent Sterling while committing violent crimes, Lance turns to Walter for help and unexpectedly drinks a newly perfected serum that looks like water. But the invisibility concoction doesn't make Sterling disappear: Instead, it turns him into a pigeon. While in bird form, Lance must team up with Walter as his new/unlikely partner in order to take down the face-stealing mastermind. Is it any good? Smith and Holland have great buddy-comedy chemistry and give this weird-in-a-good-way animated adventure a charming, crowd-pleasing vibe. Blue Sky Animation has an impressive track record with animal-focused comedies (four Ice Age films and two Rio movies) and Spies in Disguise continues the studio's streak with the wacky twist of Smith's smooth-talking agent turning into a talking blue pigeon (complete with a tiny tuxedo bow-tie tattoo. Some of the humor may go over very young viewers' heads, but tweens will appreciate the pigeon anatomy jokes, as well as the dark, drone-obsessed adversary ( Ben Mendelsohn, who's quite comfortable playing villains and can sound quite chilling. Although the two leads work mostly as a duo, the talented supporting cast includes Reba McEntire as Sterling's unit director, Rashida Jones as an internal affairs investigator (who believes Sterling has turned traitor) and Karen Gillan and DJ Khaled as her well-intentioned but misguided team. The Mark Ronson-produced soundtrack prominently features Rob Base's "It Takes Two" for the Gen X parents. Rocket Fuel" by DJ Shadow and De La Soul, Fly" by Lucky Daye, and other high-energy tracks. But what really elevates this story is Walter's insistence on nonviolence (or at least nonlethal violence) creating gadgets and tech that focus on distracting and humanizing enemies with glitter-and-kitten bombs and other adorable innovations. The movie's sweet, heartwarming message of peace and understanding is one everyone could use. Talk to your kids about... Families can talk about the positive messages in Spies in Disguise. What does Lance learn about peaceful negotiation thanks to Walter? Why is it important not to be casually OK with  violence, even if it's for government reasons? Which characters do you consider  role models in the movie? What are their character strengths? What are your favorite buddy movies? Why do you think the genre works, particularly in action/adventure? What are some of your favorite examples? Why are the buddies usually "odd couples" with very different personalities, strengths, and styles? Do you think there's potential for a sequel to this movie? If so, what would you like to see more of in the story? Character Strengths Our editors recommend Terrific, action-packed superhero sequel was worth the wait. Just the right combination of fantasy and comedy. Super-dog adventure is fun, age-appropriate for kids. This animated WWII story may not engage all kids. Sweet story about compassion, nonviolence has a few scares.
